Steps to Becoming a Student

1. Take the TABE

The Florida Department of Education requires that students entering a Workforce Education Certificate Program must have recently taken the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Exemptions are made for students who have proof of previous assessment or possess an Associate degree or higher and graduated from a public high school in 2007 or after.

The TABE Assessment is given Tuesday and Thursday by first-come, first-serve only; from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (You must be here at 7:30 am) Summer and holiday testing hours will vary. The evening TABE Assessment is given on Tuesday evenings at 5:00 pm. (You must be here at 4:30 pm)

You should allow two and one-half to four hours to complete the entire assessment and plan on an additional 15 minutes more in order to register and pay a fee before the test begins.

The fee for the TABE for adults is $20.00 and is not refundable. A photo ID is required and please no shorts.
